Grass and Weed Ordinance #1054

Just a reminder to all property owners within the city limits, grass and weeds must be kept under eight (8) inches. Ordinance #1054 requires notification to be published in the Williston Herald around the 15th of each month and no longer requires certified mail notification to a property owner in violation prior to a contractor being sent to maintain the property. Code Compliance officers will attempt to post a courtesy notice on the property structure if available. If you have any questions, please call the Code Compliance Division at 701-713-3838.

Williston, N.D. (March 29,2017) – JE Dunn, the 10th largest general contractor in the United States, was approved by the Williston City Commission at their meeting Tuesday, March 28, to build the new Williston Basin International Airport terminal. The general contracting firm, with an office in Williston, was chosen through a quality-based selection process as the Construction Manager at Risk, winning out over one other bidder.

While oil and gas markets may have been slow to wake up from hibernation during the early months of 2017, the northwest region, by contrast, has been bustling with activity. Despite all of this activity (and maintaining long hours in the office to keep up!), we sometimes forget to stop and breathe for a moment, in order to share updates and news with our partners outside of the region. And while I'm always inclined to lead with our successes, sometimes the sales pitch tactic gets old and people just want to know the bottom line: what's really happening and where are we headed. With that in mind, I'm here to tell you that for better or worse, we have one heck of a season ahead of us in the northwest.

The City of Williston is seeking community input on the future planning, design and management of a massive redevelopment in Williston. The first of three town hall meetings will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Williston Area Recreation Center.
STAR Fund Community Enhancement

Compost containers are placed at the following locations: 1. Rickard School-14th Street East and 2nd Avenue 2. Corner of 5th Street East and 8th Avenue East 3. Western Star Ball Complex-19th Avenue West and 15th Street Containers are for grass clippings and leaves only. Please do not mix tree limbs, bags or household waste with compost. Compost containers that get contaminated with these items require that the load be buried in the landfill and defeats the purpose of the containers.
